Wow, has it really been almost a year since I last updated?! I am a facebooker now lol:) I check that thing more than 3 times a day, helps having access on my phone ;) But anyway we are alive, all four of us! We have been busy little bees and have been blessed many times by our Father in Heaven! I will just give you the run down on our busy little family!

This is Mr. Kamden... he's a very lovable cuddly boy, with a big temper and a perfect heart melting smile. He gave us some scares recently with seizures... official diagnosis Complex Febrile Seizures... He's fine and he'll grow out of them. He loves balls, books, bats, cars, dinosaurs, his sister, the tramp, his daddy, nursery and lots of other things!! He's very entertaining and I adore him!! His vocabulary amazes me there is nothing he can't say! Although I believe his favorite word is NO!! Did I mention he's obsessed with Elmo?! He saw it once in the hospital and has been in love ever since! Oh and his Blaket only the ones that are tied and have pecos:) He's growing way to fast and it makes me sad. But we have been very blessed by this little man. We all love him ALOT! Nic loves having his little boy that he can tease and play with.... almost time for number 3......................... ALMOST I said!

This is Miss Taya... she is a sweet helpful little lady, with a mean streak and a sassy unforgetful personality. She loves school, primary, reading, singing, dancing, babies, barbies, her mommy, her brother, her daddy, her soft snuggly blankets, and her doggie. She begs everyday for a baby sister and to go to school. She will be attending kindergarten at Legacy in the fall (breaks my heart) and will be playing soccer this spring. She is sooooo excited about both!! She loves her brother and is a wonderful big sister. She is a big help to both Mommy and Daddy. She has trully been a blessing in our lives and how thankful we are for her. She is also very loved by all of us! We wouldn't trade her for the world (most days that is).

As for the man of the house... Well Nic is a busy man... he's working construction full time, attending school full time, and running a carpet cleaning business he is also starting his own company with a good friend of ours. We are so proud of him and the fact that he always makes time for us! He is a fun guy with an always teasing personality...gets him in trouble sometimes lol but we adore Daddy we couldn't ask for a better fellow!!

Mom.... well she's busy as well still babysitting, doing hair, and staying busy with her calling. She loves to read, sew, and be home with these little boogers :) She wouldn't change anything about her life. She feels trully blessed and content with all that Heavenly Father has blessed her with...

It seems like yesterday that I held you in my arms for the first time. I was scared to be a mommy. I hoped that I would be able to give you everything you needed in life and more than anything I prayed that you'd be healthy and happy! So far I think we are doing okay! I cannot believe you are four years old!! Daddy and I are so proud of the young lady you are turning out to be. You are a great friend to everyone. You are the BEST sister! You amaze me every day with your knowledge. You are so smart sometimes TOO smart! You know what is right and 9 times out of 10 choose the right way to do things or act. We are lucky to have such a special girl. Thank you Taya for letting us be your parents! (not that you have a choice lol) We love you so much and are so proud of you. I hope you always know how much we love you sis! Happy Birthday Mataya Kylee!

We had a lot of fun on Taya's birthday. We rented a big water slide blow up thingy lol! It was SO MUCH FUN! Thank you to everyone that came and participated. It made her day! Mom D. Thanks for making the cake. It was cute even though she though it was Santa. Mom B. Thanks for pillow pet. She LOVES it... It goes everywhere with her!! She loved all of her presents and had " The BEST party EVER!!" Anyway here are some pictures of the big day! LOL! I didn't get a lot of pictures, sadly, it was crazy!! When she was opening up the family presents Kamden choked on something and threw up everywhere and it took me a while to get her to stop opening so we could take care of him lol! Thankfully he was in his highchair. Thanks again Cort for cleaning up the kitchen!

Happy birthday to my dear sister and one of my best friends! I miss you dearly and still cannot believe you are not here to laugh with me. Although I do know that you are close everyday and watching over us. You have the best seat in the house and I know that you were snuggling with my little man before he came to this earth. I would watch him smile at nothing and I can't help but wonder if it was you that he was smiling at! I know that you are watching Taya and I am sure you are teaching her to sing. She sings all the time and I know she didn't get that from me or Nic! I can't wait to see you again and be able to tell you all of the things that I wish I had said before. I can't wait to see you with my little ones and to let them get to know you! I can't wait to hear your laugh or see your smile! I love you big sis! Happy Birthday!

A Very Happy Birthday To ME!!

Saturday was my 25th birthday! It's crazy that I am that old!! WEIRD!! It was a great birthday! Nic decided Friday night that we were going to go to California. I thinking he was joking just laughed and said, "Sure we are!" Well Saturday came and he had a hotel booked and everything so I opened my presents (a dress from Taya, a gypsie for my cricut, with all the dressings) and we packed and left. They were great gifts Nic wrapped everything individual down to the free sample and coupon that came with it, LOL!! We went to the beach Saturday evening and then went to the hotel. As you an imagine our kids were SO excited to be out of the car! They both traveled so well. We then decided that while we were in California that we might as well go to Disneyland. Taya REALLY wanted to go. We spent all Sunday at Disneyland. Kamden was a good sport and very happy seeing has he only had 2, 20 min naps compared to his 2, 2-3 hour naps! Taya got to see all kinds of Characters and Princess Jasmine was SO sweet with her. She sat and talked to Taya for like 5 min. She even saw Princes Tiana! We also got a front row seat for the parade and Taya got pulled down twice to the street to dance with the Characters and Dancers. It was SO much fun and we really had the best time. I was bummed that my camera died halfway through the day. I took alot a pictures with my phone too though. Taya said her favorite ride was Dumbo and that she had the "Best Vacation EVER." We went that evening to Nic's Aunt Tobi's time share and got to watch the fireworks on the roof with her and her kids! We were all VERY tired by the time we got back to the hotel. We went to the beach on Monday and met up with Nic's cousin, Kimi, her husband Mike, and two kids Zane and Nate. They brought a little grill and food to barbecue and we relaxed and played on the beach. It was really great to see them! Thanks again for the GREAT food and FUN!! We miss you guys already! We left the beach about 3 and headed home. The kids were so tired they slept the whole way home and the next morning till 7:30! It was a great Vacation and a much needed one at that! I am so glad we went! I am so thankful for Nic and the great husband and dad he is! He was so fun and helpful this weekend. He became Taya's and Kamden's favorite by the time we got home!

Taya says and does some of the funniest things and I swear she remembers EVERYTHING! We were at the zoo Monday and we heard this bird screach and she said, "I know why that bird yelled like that, he's getting shots! Poor guy!" I could go on and on and I really should write them down cause everyday there is something. Well anyone my favorite one this month is a couple weeks ago we were getting ready to go to Nic's parents house and all of us where in the car waiting on Taya. A few minutes later she opened the door and informed me that she couldn't find her other shoe. So I responded, "Taya just go get different ones!" A few minutes later she came out we buckled her in and off we went. We went to Safeway on the way in and then to Nic's parents house. We were there for about two hours, helping Kelsey get ready for prom, when we went outside and were playing in the grass when I looked down and saw this....

I don't know how she did it without me or Nic noticing but she did. And when I asked her why she had different shoes on she simply replied, " I told you I couldn't find the other one and you said to get a different one!" I guess I should choose my words more carefully!

To Mr. Greer

I just wanted to say a little something about a man named Frank Greer. He was one of my 6th grade teachers, he coached me in basketball, and he taught me a lot more than he will ever know. He has been a great part of my growing up and I can't thank him enough for all he taught me and all of his love he has always shared. He always has a smile to give and a warm hug!

For Aunt Cortney!

I received an email from my sister-in-law, Cortney telling me that I NEEDED to update my blog. So this is for you Cort! As always we are busy, busy, busy. Nic is now working for a construction company called STB Construction. He LOVES it. He still is doing carpet cleaning and handywork on the side. He also is the Cubmaster in our ward and pulled off his first very successful pack meeting on Tuesday! Way to go babe! :)Since working Construction he has lost 20lbs!! He's back to what he weighed before working at U of P and I bet by the end of summer he'll be waisting away. But it has been nice cause he works from 6-2 everyday! So he is home early and I love it.

As for me I am staying busy with babysitting, hair, and my calling in the Primary, and of course taking care of my two kiddos! I enjoy everyday though. I love being in the Primary I have the opportunity to be with some very special people and a lot of extremely special kids! I love being home with my kids and I couldn't ask for a better kid to babysit. Marcus is such a good little boy and Taya loves having him to play with. Also Amanda Hall and I are doing the P90X workouts every morning and it is so nice to have a partner to keep me motivated. Thanks Amanda!! It is so nice that we live just down the road from each other!!

Mataya is still growning and getting smarter everyday. She is too tall for all the pants I bought her at Christmas but can still wear 24month skirts and shorts. She's getting tall! She still loves her little brother and loves to help mom and dad. She's a good girl, yet she does have her moments. I still love that she will still cuddle with me and love on me and she told my mother-in-law that she got so pretty cause her Mama made her that way!:) She now knows the 1st and the 2nd article of faith and loves to sing her primary songs. On suday she woke up and got her dress on and shoes and told Nic and I it was time for church. Too bad church isnt tell 2pm!

Kamden is growing TOO fast! He will stand by himself. We welcomed another two teeth this month making a total of 6 teeth!! He now has 4 on bottom and 2 on top! He got the flu and that was rough for a few days and his appetite still isn't back to where it was but it is getting there. He had his first popsicle yesterday and well.... He loved it he ate it all in like 5 min and I think he got a brain freeze at one point cause he started to cry halfway through but if I took it from him he got madder...so...Brain freeze away. He taught himself to drink out of a straw and he still loves his sister. Here is a video of him laughing at her.
He also is a busy body! My mom said that nursing him must have been like nursing the tasmanian devil! I have to agree with that... He hates to sit still he loves to explore and he LOVES to be outside and loves to play with balls! He chase a soccer ball all over the backyard. I think Grandpa got his ball player! Happenings of this month: My sister Deni, her husband Brett, and their two kids, Ryan and Sydney came to Arizona and we got to spend some time with them. IT was alot of fun. We went to the easter pagent, had easter dinner together, went to Tre' and Tucker's ball games, went to the zoo, went to Chuckee Cheeses and had a lot of laughs!

Maci Lynn Canter was blessed and I got sit and hold her last weekend and I gave her her first pigtails. My mother-in-law said "Oh, Macie this is just the beginning of Aunt Jess!" Ha ha!

Madden Hall also turned three and we got to go to his party! It was lots of fun! Happy birthday Madden!

What a life?!!

I have been thinking a lot lately about how TRULLY blest I am. I have two BEAUTIFUL, HEALTHY, and HAPPY kids. Who adore me and I adore them. I have a hard working, handsome TEASE, I have the pleasure of calling my husband. We both have work that puts a roof over our heads, food on the table, and clothes on our backs. I have the opportunity to serve in the Primary. I love it. I love the kids and it is amazing at how quick and how strong that love came and has grown. I have the knowledge of knowing what will happen after I leave this earth. I know that I am loved and have a Savior who loved me enough to take on my sins, sorrows, and burdens. What a life I have!! Too often I think I take it for granted. Too often I over look how WONDERFUL I have it, how good my Heavenly Father has been to me.
So my resolution...
To not be so quick to anger (PATIENTS)
To love love love, speak softly
To NOT be so critical
To be GRATEFUL
To remember what it was like to be a KID
To not try to make my little ones grow up so fast
To tell Nic more often how GREAT he is!!

I am sure there could be a lot more. But as for now... I think those will keep me busy.

And of course I cannot post with out putting up some pictures and saying a little about our little ones.

Mataya is getting too smart for her own good. She keeps telling me that when Kamden starts to walk we can have another baby, but a GIRL this time. Then she asked Nic how he could get another baby in my belly? lol... OH NO!
Nic told Taya she could drive the sandrail if she could figure out how to start it. Well that took like 3 min! So nic sat beside her and helped her steer and she drove it around when we went camping with my sisters and their family (good time). Taya also LOVES to dress up and put on a show for me and Kamden. She sings her own rendention of London Bridges and There's a Hippo in my Tub, and many more. Gotta love that girl! As far as funny things she says... I need to write them down daily, because I FORGET THEM!!!

As for Kamden, he's a TANK! An older lady said to me once, "Wow he's a big little guy and you are a little thing how do you carry him around all day?" Funny thing is he really doesn't like to be held that much... He's too busy! So we have said GOOD BYE to nursing! It was a wrestling match that I gave up on cause he would never sit still long enough to eat! So he's on the bottle and LOVES his baby food!! So NO he isn't starving. We said hello to one new tooth on the bottom making a total of three and the two top are coming through. He's the smiliest kid I've ever seen. But when he is ready for a NAP he is ready. That is the only time he will just relax and let you hold him. When we went camping after trying the blanket and scooping dirt clods and rocks out of his mouth when we were packing up we put him in the back of the truck and he was in HEAVEN! I think that was the happiest he was the whole trip cause he just wanted to do his own thing and didn't want to be held!

And they still LOVE eachother. I did buy their easter outfits and I AM so excited to see them in them!!! I really can't wait!

And something that I must post about! My father-in-law takes all four of us girls on a "Daddy Daughter Date" once a year. He has for the past 3 years and it is a night I look forward to. He is a great man and I am so lucky to have the Despain's in my life! I love them so much!!

The other night Mataya was doing something she wasn't suppose to and Nic said,"Taya you better knock it off or I am going to kick your tail."
Taya replied,"DAD! I don't have a tail! Only you and Kamden have tails!"
Nic laughed and said,"What do you think a tail is?"
LOL! We laughed and laughed!!!We are still laughing about it... Silly little girl!

On another note it has been a busy week. It was really cold and rainy outside on Monday so what do you do with three intergetic kids you ask? Well, you build a fort and before you know it... It's lunch time and nap time!!

I also got to watch Katelyn for a little bit... I didn't get a picture of her!! But we had fun!

Tuesday we went into town so we could take Teagan to the park. I knew he might be going stir crazy and Taya wanted to go to the park so after my run we drove into town and picked Teagan up and went to the park. It was alot of fun!

And of course I had to hold Miss Macie for JUST A MIN!! I even got half a smile from her!!

Today I watched Ty Hill! He was a good little guy but I only got one picture of Kamden and Ty together! Those boys are CRAZY!!

OH and I did it!! I made a bubble skirt for Taya!!

What a month already!!

Life is grand at the Despain home. We have been SUPER busy as always. Between family stuff and church I am surprised we find time to sleep!! But we are doing great! We were able to go up to Heber and my parents watched Mataya and Kamden while Nic and I went snowboarding. I am starting to get the hang of it and I am really starting to enojoy it. Anyway while we were up there we went and visited with my Grandma Bowers. She hates the snow and was getting cabin fever because she wouldn't go out with all of it out there so we decided to visit her. Infact she has a sign on her porch that says, "Let it snow, somewhere else!" It was good to see her and my kids love her just about as much as I do!

Taya had her first dentist appointment a week ago. It really was her third but the other two times she was not having it. She wouldn't even open her mouth so the dentist could look at her teeth. This time she did great. She let them clean them, count them, floss them, but she wouldn't let them suck up her spit (sorry don't know any gentler way of putting that. Any how we are so very proud of her. She sure is growing fast and I sure appreciate the good big sister and daughter she is growing up to be. She is so smart. She wrote her name on all of her valentine's cards and she has memorized the first article of faith! We are so proud of you Taya!

Speaking of teeth Kamden has two daggers! He's bite me several times nursing... I think I'm ready to be done! LOL! He's crawing everywhere!! He's growing way to fast it saddens me. He's such a sweet little guy and he is such a good baby! I sure do love my two kids and I am so lucky to have them!PS don't mind the messy face. He LOVES those Gerber bitter bars!

I am still loving my sewing machine. I made a quilt for my little sister's baby. It turned out so cute and I am still so proud of my self lol!

On Valentine's Day we got the best present! Nic's sister Randa had her baby girl. Miss Macie Lyn Canter arrived at 7:17am, 20 in long and she is ADORABLE. I was happy to see that she was wearing the Valentine Bow I made for her. Anyway we all love her and are so glad that MOMMA and MACIE are doing great! Congrats Mike and Randa!

Nic has been staying busy...Do you like his new bike? LOL?!

4 years and much more!

January 20th Nic and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary. It's crazy that another year has came and gone of our life together already. Nic got me some beautiful flowers and a very sweet card. It's nice to see his sweet side every once in a while. I am so grateful for Nic and the great husband and father he is! I couldn't imagine life without him and I hope I never have to experience it. He is my best friend and the only person that can make me so mad one minute and have me laughing so hard I'm crying the next... We were able to go to the temple and out to lunch. Nic's mom watched the kiddos. It was nice to go and remember covenants we made 3 years ago to heavenly father and eachother. I look forward to many many years with Nicholaus Kurt Despain and I am so glad he's patient enough to put up with this crazy woman! LOL!

Kamden is 6 months old! I can't believe it. He just cut his second tooth. It looks like he is going to teeth like Taya, she cut two teeth at a time. He is SOOO close to crawling he used to just go backwards, then he was able to go side to side and now he is slowly figuring out how to go forward.... I'm afraid I may have my hands more full than I want!! Any way Kamden's growth has slowed he is 17lbs 13.5 oz and 26.25inches putting him in the 50% for everything. He's eating us out of house and home though he nurses 4 times a day, has a bowl of cereal and a jar of fruit baby food in the morning, 2 jars of vegetables in the afternoon, and cereal and a jar of fruit and sometimes a jar of vegetables in the evening. He's turing into quite the happy lil man! He makes me laugh so hard and adores his sister. She likes to push him in the cart at the store and everytime they both end up laughing so hard at each other! It makes me smile and makes our shopping trip alot more enjoyable for everyone! But I still think he is the sweetest when he is sleeping even if it is in his bouncer! Poor baby!

Mataya is growing up quicker then I would like to admit. She is so smart. She loves to help cook and do the dishes and is a big help with brother! She can sing the whole first verse of "I'm a Child of God" and loves to tease! She is obsessed with Dora and can now count to 10 in spanish!(she only gets to watch it twice a week too!)She is a Sunbeam now and loves Primary! I think it helps that half the time I am there with her. She loves our neighbor Madden Hall and Marcus Pixley is one of her best buds! She was super excited to get to have her cousin Teagan over to play too and to go to Grandma and Grandpa Biglers to play in the snow and with ERIC. She thinks that beast turning into a human is "hmmm that's strange!"

Nic ran his first Marathan. He did the PF changs Rock N' Roll Marathon On January 17th. He ran 26.2 miles in 6 hours and 26 min. He was tired and very sore afterwards. Infact he tore a tendon in the top of his foot. He says that he will never do another marathan unless he trains first. I think that's a great idea! We are so proud that he did it though!

As I mentioned we did go to Heber to go play in the snow. A funny story, on our way up to Heber there was a Semi truck stuck in the middle of the road. There were quite a few irratated people so nic drove past a couple trucks and got out and talked with the driver. Nic said that he could try and pull him up the hill but he wasn't sure if he could do it. So they hooked everything up and after a couple minutes Nic was pulling the truck up the hill. As you can imagine people were laughing at the site of our Ford pulling the Semi along with ease, and Nic I think grew 2 inches... He just kept laughing and saying, "Now that is FORD TOUGH!" LOL.

We did have fun in the snow! We went sledding burried Nic and Taya and him made a chair out of snow! It was a great time and we enjoyed getting to see my mom and dad and Brian's family. We also drove to snowflake and saw Grandma Holladay and got to go to dinner with Tobi and the kids. We love you all and it was great to see you!

January Already!

I guess it is time that I finally sat down and updated our blog. But where to begin??

November-
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We were able to go up to Heber to spend the day with my family. We came back so I could do the day after Thanksgiving shopping and so we could go the the ASU game on Saturday and have dinner with Nic's family. Nic's Aunt Amy also took some family pictures for us. She does a great job if you are looking for someone to take some GREAT pictures check out her blog amydespainphotography.blogspot.com Taya was a little poop in the beginning cause she had fallen asleep on the way there but I think they turned out great!

December-
December came and went so fast my head is still spinning. My little sister had a beautiful girl on the 5th. They named her Katelyn Azure Bryce. She's a little thing but she's sweet and we lover her. Kati and Boston are excited she's here and are still adjusting to the life of no sleep and it being all about Katelyn!

My friend Kelci had a beautiful tiny little girl on the 14th. I have yet to meet Ashlyn Parra hopefuly soon! And then Nic's cousin Lawryn had her baby girl on the 18th. They named her Brooklynn Nicole Willis. She is ADORABLE. She made me baby hungry lol.... only for a few seconds that is... hahaha
We also had the Despain Christmas Party the 18th. It was a good time we ate some great food, enjoyed a good white elephant, and was able to help out a family this year. It was different without Grandma and Grandpa. We miss them dearly but they sent gifts for all of us that they made. Grandma made hats for all the kids and grandpa made necklaces for the girls and boots for the boys (hand carved wooden ones). Grandpa also made plaques for all the married couples with a picture of the Nauvoo Temple. They were great gifts and we really enjoy their hard work.

We were visited by Santa. Man it was good to have him in our home!!

We were definetly spoiled at Christmas. I got all kinds of sewing stuff (my new hobbie, Im addicted) and the willow tree carving quitely, quilting racks and lots of other things. Nic got a guitar and dutch ovens and other stuff as well. Taya got barbies, barbie stuff, clothes, and a scooter!! Kamden got a train, clothes, and a ball toy. We were SPOILED!

January- So far this month we have gone to the park ALOT. It has just been so nice. Allionna Connolly came and visited last Tueday. Taya was so excited she was there and in fact when she left Taya told me that she had so much fun with her and wanted her to stay forever and ever.

We have got to spend sometime with our friends Mike and Cara Hill and their little guy TY. Kamden and Ty are about 7 weeks apart I think. Here's a picture of the two of them.

Nic's birthday was January 8th. We went snowboarding at Snow Bowl and had a really good time together. Nic's mom watched the kids for us. It was nice to get away with just the two of us. We hung out at his parents house and played games after we got home from boarding. Nic is now 25! Crazy and our 4 year anniversary is just aroud the corner. I can't believe it. I sure do love him. He's became my best friend and some one that on a daily basis drives me crazy, makes me laugh, makes me trully happy, and loves me!. I am so thankful for him and the husband and father he is. We are so lucky to have him.

Last but not least, Our kids are growing fast. Kamden is scooting backwards and sleeping 12-13 hours a night WHOO HOO!! Taya is learing to write her ABC's and loves to help cook, clean, and help with brother. We love them dearly and are so lucky to have sweet little kids that light up our days.

I have a lot of catching up to do! We were able to go to the Sun Devils game with Nic a few weekends ago, most the boys on the Despain side have season tickets and so he goes to every home game. Randy had an extra ticket so I was invited to go and of course we had to bring the kids in their ASU gear LOL. Here are a few of my favorite pictures!

We are loving this weather! Lots of Park Days and bike riding! I also got to watch my friend Amanda Hall's two boys while she went visit teaching and they are about the same age as my kiddo's so we had a lot of fun!

Doctor says he looks great. Still chubby as ever. He got three shots and an oral vaccine. He was not a happy guy after that, he ran a bit of a fever and has slept a lot today.He weighed 16lbs even and 26 inches! Taya was 14lbs 2 oz and 24in at this age. Kamden is in the 75% for weight and 80% for height!

The month of October flew by. I am still amazed that it is already November and I know by the time I get use to the idea of it being November that it will be December!!Any way, we had a new neighbor move in for a little bit this month... Taya calls him batty!

Yes it is a bat!

On October 20th my mom called me and told me that my Grandma Bigler was not doing well and if I wanted to see here then I needed to come now. So I called Nic and started getting the kids packed and then I received a phone call not an hour later from my mom letting me know that grandma had passed away. I was really upset at myself that I didn't try to visit her sooner. She had been battling Breast Cancer for a couple years and had been living with my Aunt Penny and Uncle Cleon in Idaho. Her last treatment of chemo they told her the cancer had doubled and that there was really nothing more they could do. So she returned home to Heber. She had missed home! She was a loving and talented woman. I wish I would have continued with the piano lessons she taught! She was very strong in the gospel and an avid D-backs fan! I had the great opportunity to curl her hair for the funeral. I know she appreciated it and as I did this service for her memories flooded back. I could almost hear her telling me how she liked it done just like when I had curled it and rolled it for her when she was alive. I will miss her dearly but I know she is not in any pain anymore and she has been reunited with 3 sons, a husband, and grandchildren that have gone before her. I love you Grandma.

So October brought a lot of dressing up for Miss Taya. She was a fairy for my sisters Trunk or Treat in the valley. Kelli got her a ASU cheer outfit at a yard sell that she had to wear all day one day. She then was Dorthy off of Wizard of Oz on Halloween. My mom made the costume and it was adorable. She was the cutest Dorthy you ever saw. Kamden wasn't going to be anything. I really didn't want to spend money on a costume for him and I didn't really want to call around to see if anyone had one I could borrow either. So I had decided he wasn't going to dress up. I went to one of my moms neighbors to borrow a slip to go with Taya's dress and she insited that I take a costume she had for Kamden... so he was "the cutest skunk you ever saw" and he smelt good too!

Busy October!!

October already! It has been a very busy month already. Kamden got his very first hair cut on the 5th. He's hair was getting so long in the back and on the top that I finally decided it was time.... Before After He also was blessed on Sunday the 11th. My mom made his suit. He looked very handsome and we appreciate everyone that came out to support us. He received a very sweet blessing by his daddy. I am so thankful that I have Nic and that it is important to him to be an honorable priesthood holder. Here is Kamden Nicholas Despain...

Also I had the opportunity to spend some quality time with my mom and two of my sisters, Kati and Lori. We went to Time Out for Women. It was a great time and there were some amazing speakers. We were missing two sisters. Deni lives in Utah and was unable to come. We did recieve a call Friday morning from Brett letting us know that Deni had been hit by a car while riding her bike. She was banged up and bruised but no broken bones or anything major. We were so thankful she was okay and felt really blessed that day. Deni is such a wonderful person and example. I look up to her in so many ways. She text me first thing the following morning and this is what the text said, "I woke up this morning and thought man I feel like I got hit by a car.. oh wait!" Ha ha. Part of the conference two of the speakers talked about being able to laugh our way through life and having a positive attitude.... "If you can laugh at it, you can live with it." Deni is definetly living this principle. I love you Den! One other sister couldn't make it.... my sister Azure passed away two years ago...Tuesday it was exactly two years. It is crazy it has been two years. I am so thankful for all the text and phone calls from everyone and for my mother in law that kept me busy with crafts to pass the time quickly. Also I am very thankful for my good friend Amanda. I had a ring on my doorbell early that morning and there stood Amanda with Dr. Pepper (Azure's fav. drink) and a big hug. Thanks Amanda you have no idea how much it ment to me. For all of you that didn't know Azure she was as a very fun, loving, talented mother, friend, sister, daughter, coach, and wife. I miss her dearly. I loved to play sports with her or to just sit and laugh. We used to dance and sing in the kitchen while cleaning. She was my number one fan and she loved my daughter like she was her own. I hope Taya knows that. I know that she took very good care of Kamden before he came to me. Whenever he stares of and just smile and coo's I can't help but wonder if she is standing right there... Sometimes I wisper in his to give her a hug for me too! I miss my sister but I am comforted with the fact that because she lived righteously on this earth and if I do the same that someday I can be with her again. That will be a wonderful day!! Anyway the day with the girls was a lot of fun. We were able to even get some pedicures. It was a great day... Taya and Kamden are both growing so fast. I can't believe he is already three months!

Haha, it was great to get out with just the two of us. We don't do it often and it was nice to be able to leave the kids and not have to worry about anything but spending time together. Thanks MOM and DAD and Grandma Holladay! We never would have gone on our own!

Doctor says he is a CHUNK! LOL but that he looks great and happy! He is a joy to have in our family! We really like him. He did get 4 shots but he did well and slept and had a bit of a fever. Also I don't want to jinx myself but Kamden slept 5pm-1am and then 1:30am-7:30 am on Sunday night and last night he slept from 10pm- well it is 7am and he is still sleeping! yay! Except he used to wake up at 4:30am every day and I'd go running at 5am... now I don't have my alarm clock lol!

Last but not least... Last night we went to a surprise party for Dad (Nic's dad). His birthday is on Wednesday. We had a lot of fun and we are really glad we got to go. If any of you know my father-in-law... you that he is one of the most amazing men I have ever know. He reminds me alot of my Dad at times and that makes him even easier to love. He had surgery last Wednesday on his gallbladder so we are glad he is doing better. It is hard to see a man who loves food not be able to eat cause it is so painful. Anyway I just wanted to say, "Happy Birthday Dad!" We sure do love you!!

Adventures in babysitting and Camping

I am really enjoying being home and babysitting. The kids I watch are really good and Taya loves to have playmates during the week. I do have to say I can't wait till it cools down and we can go outside more. It stinks to be in the house all day even for me!! Once a week or so I do set up the sprinkler and let them play in the water. They love it. Cordd and Taya run right through it and Marcus stays as far away as he can so he just barely gets wet... They do get creative being inside. Marcus and Taya played with a laudry basket for like an hour. It was their car! We went camping over Labor Day weekend. Nic's family has a big reunion up north. We love to go and actually look forward to it every year. It rained all day on Saturday so there were some dirty little kids running around. One little guy stayed clean and did a lot of sleeping! But he loved camping. Taya did get to play a bit with Eric. She loves him! They can be a bit mischeivous together though lol! We also got to spend some time with my mom and dad and Great Grandma Brewer and Grandma Bowers. They both are such amazing women. We had a great time camping. Nic loves it and it is a tradition that I have also grown to love. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from this weekend and I hope everyone else had a safe and fun Labor Day Weekend.

What we've been up to...

Well as always we have been staying busy. Nic works at University of Phoenix still and as I mentioned before started his own carpet cleaning business. So that keeps him busy plus if any of you have met my husband... he is always working outside when ever he can and will help anyone with anything... moving, shoveling gravel, laying brick, etc. Anything he can do to help someone out he is more than happy to do it. He planted our garden on Monday. I will have to update with pictures from that. Then on Friday he went to my old co-worker and good friend's Megan's house and helped shovel gravel and they gave us a truck load to finish of the section in our back yard that was needing gravel. We were lucky we got all of the gravel for our back yard for free and it just happens to match the gravel in our front yard! Nic got most of it from a guy that posted an add on Craig's list that if he came and shoveled it he could have it. So his Dad and sister's loaded our truck up! It's amazing how frugal we have become LOL!! I will have to take pictures of the yard to show everyone...next time lol! Another thing I love about Nic. He loves to bake bread! I have never made bread or rolls lol he always does. Here's a picture of his work... and it tastes good too! As for me.... I am loving being home with my babies. I am definetly staying busy though. I am babysitting 3 kids during the week. I have Marcus Pixley (Megan's son, adn then Lori's brother's-in-law kids, Chloe and Cordd. I have Marcus 4 days a week and normally Cordd 3-4 days a week. Chloe I only have for about 2 hours 2-3 times a week. They are all pretty good kids and Taya loves having play mates. It is really nice to be able to be home and still be making some extra money. I also have been busy with hair in the evenings. I sure do enjoy doing hair and I really appreciate the business. If you ever need it done give me a call!! Grandpa's... My kids love their Grandpa's. My Mom and Dad came last week for a quick visit. It was sure good to see them. Anyway while my mom was at the dentist my dad played and played with Taya and I snuck a picture of him and Kamden.
Then on Saturday Nic's mom and dad watched Kamden and Mataya so we could go out for dinner. It was greatly needed. It was nice to get a way for a couple hours just the two of us. Thanks mom and dad! Here was a cute picture I got of Grandpa and the boys (Kamden and Teagan) before we left for dinner.
Taya and I made sugar cookies. It was a lot of fun. I love being home with her. Anyway she wanted to make a special cookies for her Dad. So I cut out "I 'heart' U"
She was so excited about her "special cookie for dad." Any way when Nic got home from work she was so excited and she said," Daddy we made you a special cookie! It's a hot dog, a heart, and a letter!" LOL... her's a picute of our "hot dog, heart, and letter"

And last but not least... Kamden is getting big! We had his 1 month check up today...
He is 10lbs 5 oz, 22 and 1/4 inches long! He has grown almost 2 inches in a month. The Dr says he is a really tall baby lol! He's growing so fast where has the time gone. We sure do like him.

Sunday evening was pretty nice so we decided to take a little walk to the mailbox and down to the park. Taya has been wanting to go to the park for weeks but it has been to hot to go. I hate that about summers here! Any how few pictures of our fun evening...

So one Tuesday we took Kamden to the Doctor to do a weight check to make sure he was gaining weight. When Nic and I took him last week he weighed 7lbs 2oz. Which was good seeing as he had dropped down to 6lbs 14oz by the time we left the hospital. Anyway he weighed 8lbs even at the Doctor. We see a PA named Bill at Mesa Pediatrics and I really really like him. He's on top of things and he is really good about making you feel like your concerns or questions are important. Anyway Bill walked in and visited with Taya a bit... she Loves him. And then he said, "So did the nurse tell you how much Kamden weighs?" I replied, "Yeah, 8lbs even." He then told me how idealy they want a newborn to gain at least 1/2 an oz a day and Kamden gained 14oz in 7 days. Meaning his average weight gain was 2oz a day!! "So can we say chunk?!" The Dr said then he said, "My next question is... I have a bunch of kids that can't gain weight. Can I send them your way?" I just started laughing. Nursing Kamden has been such a great thing so far.. he wakes every 3-4 hours to eat and I haven't had an problems like I did with Taya. I am alot more dedicated to it this time. So things are great! I am enjoying being home with both my kids. Taya is a big helper and she adores her little brother!

Kamden Nicholaus Despain arrived at 9:30 am. He weighed in at 7lbs 6oz and is 20 and a 1/2 inches long. He did not want to come out... in fact they would push one way and he'd go the other lol. Other than that things went great. He is beautiful with lots of dark hair. Mom is doing great, SORE but doing great. Click on this link to access the pictures of our adventure so far.

Just a few thoughts....

So we decided that Kamden is pretty content. We are scheduled at 9:00am tomorrow morning for the c-section. I have had some good contractions here and there but nothing consistant. We are excited to meet our little guy. I really can't wait for him to be here. I am nervous for the procedure tomorrow. I don't think I will be getting much sleep. I know things will probably be fine but whole thought of getting cut open and the IV... just makes me nervous. I think that is why I have been so content with just waiting... It's crazy to think that in less than a day we will be welcoming a little guy into our family of three. Nic is so ready! He motivates me to walk and all that... He says, "let's get this baby out." Taya is ready as well she asks everyday if today is the day. She came and climbed in bed with me this morning and I told her that tomorrow when she woke up Kamden would be here. She squealed and rubbed my belly. She then looked at me and said, "I am going to hold him, squeeze him, and call him my own." My dad always says that to her and it made me smile. We can't wait!!!

Miss Taya turned three yesterday. We had a birthday party on Saturday for her big day. We ate some good burgers cooked by... Some good looking guys!! There were a lot of cute kids! They played and we did a pinata! It was a lot of fun! Taya had a blast and was exhausted by the time the party ended! Taya was cracking me up. She said the funniest things when she was opening her gift. Like she got a register from Steve and Kelli (Oma and Papa) and she said, " oh.. I always wanted one of these!" Any way she was hillarious! A just want to say a little something about my little girl. She is my bestest friend! I love her from head to toe. She makes me laugh and brightens every day and even though she can be a pill I adore her. Thank you Taya for being such a good little girl. I sure do love you to pieces! Daddy does too!!! I haven't ever really posted any pictures of my house because I always knew one day we would finish painting it. That day is almost here! All we have left is Taya's room and ours. Maybe one day i might feel like painting the bathrooms, but for now.... they can't wait for a long while lol! I told Nic I really wanted to have the main rooms in the house done and the kids rooms before Mr. Kamden made his grand appearance! Any way, thanks to Nic and Cortney we are almost done. I am not too worried about getting our room done anytime soon either lol! But anyway here are a few pictures of our kitchen/dinning room and family room.

Just the paint and the dresser but don't worry we will have everything ready before he gets here or so we hope lol! Here is another picture of just the dresser. Our neighbors Steve and Soana were kind enough to keep an eye out for a dresser for us. It was FREE!! Which was nice and Nic sanded it down and stained it and it looks great!

Also, Ms. Taya is getting so big. Well she talks big lol and is getting talk. The little lady still weighs 28lbs... gained nothing since Christmas! She can still wear 12-24 month clothes LOL! She is my favorite little friend though. She says the funniest stuff. We were sitting at dinner last night and she asked me... "So, Mom, what do you want to do today? Play or watch cartoons? Which one huh?" Nic and looked at each other and laughed. She also informed me that Kamden was sleeping in her bed with her, so to stop painting his room! Any way we sure do love her! I can't wait to see what another addition will bring!

My birthday was last Friday and it was great! Busy but great! Nic got me a new camera!! Yay! Our old one the lense wouldn't open half the time and I really wanted a new one before the baby got here! So he surprised me with it cause he told me there was no way he was buying on. All though I have to admit Taya kind of ruined the surprise I came home from work one day and she always comes out after I stop the car and asks me how my day was! I love it! Anyway, she asked me if I like my new camera that Daddy bought me?! I just told her, "I don't think you are suppose to be telling me this!" Anyway so all the pictures where taken with the new thing! It is a really cool camera.. it has a feature that if some one smiles it will detect it and take a picture of them automatically! Cool I think! It does alot of other things but you'll have to ask Nic about all that lol!

We did find out some great news! The fluid around the baby is now normal. So this dang diet is working! I also have lossed about 17 lbs since they put me on it! Baby is in the 53% and he may have the same kidney thing that Taya has, multiple ureturs. But othere than that things are great! I have to see the Dr every week to go over my sugars and to have a stress test. YAY!! Not really but I tolerate it! Anyway! Things are good at the Despain Home!

Pregnancy....

We have had some complications lately... if that is what you would call them I cannot think of a different phrase. Last Friday I went in for an ultrasound to measure the size of our little guy. They were concerned cause he had too much amniotic fluid around him and his abdomen was measuring in the 90th percentile. So the sent me for a specialist ultrasound on Monday. I also failed the one hour glucose test so I had to get the 3 hour test done to see if I had gestational diabetes again. I had it with Taya and I was able to control it very well by diet. So the diabetes doesn't really scare me it is something that I am familiar with. Monday, I went in and did the 3 hour test... I forgot how horrible that stuff is on an empty stomach! Then I went to the ultrasound with Nic at about 2 pm. We got some good and some bad news. His abdomen is only measuring a couple days a head.... no biggie according to the Dr. His weight is about 3lbs which is in the 53% so as far as measurements go I am measuring two days ahead of my due date but he looks great. He does still have a lot of amniotic fluid around him. Everything once again points to gestational diabetes. He also has one kidney measuring a bit bigger than normal. Once again the Dr told us this is very common in boys but we go back on the 29th to see if the kidney is still enlarged or if it worked it self out. I asked Nic why we couldn't create a kiddo with two good kidney's LOL!! Anyhow, I got my lab results back today from my sugar test and they were negative... kinda. My sugar at fasting was normal, at one hour was one point too high, and normal at two and three hour. Two have to be out of range to make a diagnosis of gestational diabetes. I talked to the specialist Dr. and we decided I would go ahead and treat it like I had gestational diabetes, meaning watch what I eat! I am suppose to meet with a dietitian next Thursday and start checking my sugar levels after every meal. WHoo HOO!! JK! I should hear from my OB tomorrow and I will see what they think as well. But really other than that our little guy is doing great. I am not worried about he diabetis cause it is something I know I can control! It explains why I am as big as I am (for those of you that haven't seen me I look like I did when I gave birth to Tay LOL). We did get some awesome 3D-4D pictures of our little man. I think he looks like his big sister!

Slacking...

I have been slacking in the blogging world. I just really haven't made it a priority to sit down and update what has been going on in the Despain house hold. We have stayed busy this past month. Nic has been busy with work, school, and his carpet cleaning. If anyone needs their carpets done you should give Nic a call. I personally think he does a great job and is very affordable :) haha! Anyway...
We haven't done too much to prepare for our little guys. His room is not even close to being done... infact it isn't even started, but I have been stocking up on diapers, wipes, formula, and baby food. When we found out I was pregnant Nic and I decided I would buy a pack of diapers about once a month. I have gotten some really great deals on diapers so I have bought a couple here and there. Infact I got some Huggies Jumbo packs for $1.99! Anyhow Taya has been practicing changing her babies diapers. I think I am going to have quite the little helper!

I have been making time to take Taya too the park before I go in to work on the day I work late. She loves it and I sure do enjoy our one-on-one time together.

We had a wonderful Easter. We didn't go to Payson cause it was raining here and suppose to be snowing on the rim. So we stayed and went to Tatum's party and spent sometime together coloring Easter eggs. Taya wasn't as into it as I thought she would be. My mom and dad came for Tatum's birthday and it was good to have them around.

We went to Nic's parents house on Saturday night for dinner. It was fun to just relax and watch Taya find the eggs around the house.

Sunday- The easter bunny definetly found us and Taya was so tired when we woke her up she just stared at the baskets! LOL!

We went to church with Lori and Jared. Ben, Kati, and Lori were singing in church so we went to that and then had Easter dinner at Lori's house. It was good to spend time with the family and also with the Baker's. We are so thankful for the True meaning of Easter. To know that I can be forgiven and be clean because of Christ ultimate sacrifice has given me so much comfort. I am grateful for the bridge that it creates so that I can be with my sister again someday. Gratitude... what more can I say.

Some GREAT news

We took Taya to Phoenix Children's Hospital on the 6th to get a VCUG test done. The test was to see if the procedure she had done back in December worked or not. Taya and I checked in at 1:15 and Nic came later to go into the test with us. I can't be in the room when the actual test is being done because it is an xray and I am prego. I was glad he was there. Taya did great. She really does so good the only time she ever cries is when they put the cathider in, which is completely understandable. Their staff is so awesome! We love PCH! Anyway, Taya got to pick a toy after the test and she found a Winnie Pooh dressed up like a bunny! She loves it. We then headed across the street to meet with her eurologist to get the test results. Dr. Richie gave us some wonderful news. Her kidney's are functioning perfectly! He said he didn't need to see her again unless she gets a UTI! No more medicine, no more tests, no more visits! It was such wonderful news. I had such a full heart when we left. I am so thankful to my Heavenly Father for taken care of Taya. We are so thankful that she is healthy!!

We continue to stay very busy. Even on a weekend like this past weekend that was suppose to be relaxing we found plenty to keep all of us busy! On Friday, I watched Marcus Pixley, he is my friend from work, Megan's son. (that was kind of a confusing sentence lol) Any way, he was a joy to have. Taya loved having some one around to play with!

On Saturday we went to the Nursery by our house and bought some flowers, strawberries, and seeds to plant the garden. Taya and Nic had a lot of fun. She loves to be outside working with her daddy! I drove to Phoenix to visit Kati and do some hair at her house! Thank you for all of you that came over there! I appreciate the business! Here are some pictures of Nic and Taya at work.

Nic and his dad also canned 40 lbs of chicken! We love canning! It is a lot of fun to do and to know that you are following a commandment on top of that makes it even more worth it.

Taya has been such a helper lately! She loves to do the dishwasher... as she calls it. She loves to clean! I hope it continues LOL!

She also loves to brush her teeth and is getting quite good at it!

And last but certainly not least! We went and had our ultra sound today! Everything looks great! They say HE is completly healthy. In the 63% percentile! So yes.... We are having a BOY!!!

He moved around like crazy during the ultrasound. He did not like being looked at lol! Nic was excited. It is time this house got a boy... there is way too much pink (according to him lol. We have talked a bit about Kamden as a name... but we don't really know! Anyway... he is healthy and a BOY!!

An update that is LONG over due.....

December was a very busy month for our family of 3 and 1/2 (almost), and it didn't slow done in January either. We celebrated Nic's birthday three times! Once with his family, once with just the three of us, and another time with a combined party for him and Scott Adams. It was alot of fun and we were so thankful for everyone who came to help us celebrate. Taya had an ultrasound done of her kindey. The doctor said that he couldn't tell much from the ultrasound but it didn't look like the kidney was hardening, which can be a side effect of the procedure she had done. We go back for another dreaded VCUG test on March 6th. This will show if the procedure worked. She is back on antibiotics once a day. She's become a good sport and doesn't fight it anymore. I don't understand why they have to make kids medicine taste so nasty.... I guess so they don't try to drink it all the time... hmmm who knows?

Taya is getting so grown up. She will talk your ear off if you give her the chance. If you have ever seen here with her little baby dolls you will know that is going to be an AWESOME big sister. I wonder if she will be a bit too helpful???!!! Here are a few happenings from this past month in a half....

Nic and I did celebrate our third anniversary on January 20th.... It is amazing how time has flown by. I sure do love him. He is the biggest tease I have ever met, but I love that about him. It is never a dull moment around our house and he is constantly keeping me laughing... even if most the time because he is making fun of me!!! We were able to escape to Greer Lodgings, in Greer AZ for the weekend. My parents kept Taya and it was really nice to get away with just the two of us! I didn't bring my camera cause I am pregnant and blonde.... ENOUGH SAID!! LOL! But here are a couple pictures I took with my phone. These pictures really aren't much but if you get an opportunity to go up to Greer. GO!! It is beatiful up there and the resturants surrounding the cabins are excelent!

Any of you who know my husband know that he is ALWAYS on the go. The man can't sit still. He always has to be doing something productive, or what he may think is productive. He rarely sleeps in and any thing he can do to help some one else he will do. Anyway he was suppose to go straight home from work last Wednesday when his dad called and needed help with fixing his window on his truck, it was off the track or something. Any way Nic went over to help his dad out. I got to the house about 5:15 to pick up Taya and it wasn't ten min later that Randa came in and told me to stay in the house and for Nic's mom to come outside. Wierd?? I thought so too. So I waited a few min. then walked outside to see Nic holding a towel against his hand a few drops of blood here and there all over the carport. I looked at him and asked, "How bad is it?"
He replied, "Pretty bad???"
ME: Does it need stitches?
His mom: YES!
ME: Do we need to go to the Urgent Care?
Nic: YES!
ME: Well, let's go.
I think I was a bit in shock and in trying to keep my cool, he thought I was mad that he had cut himself, lol. I laughed and told him that it was me trying not to panic. His mom called and Urgent Care near their house that is run by Doctor's she works with. So even though it was a Pediatric Urgent Care, they let us come on over. We were there for about 2 hours. I have never seen Nic in so much pain. It brought tears to his eyes. He couldn't sit still either he just waltzed all over the place. He made it through it though it is healing slowly but getting a bit better every day. He had to get 5 stiches and he will lose he finger nail off his left pointer finger. You are probably wondering how he cut it?? Well I still don't understand something about a wire and a motor and releasing this thingy that came back and SLICE!! It was dangling at first. Nic was pretty sure he cut it off. We are lucky it wasn't any worse than it was. Any where here are a few pictures...

As for me... Well I stay plenty busy with the two of them lol. I did get to watch Randa's kids last Friday... It was alot of fun and show's me what I will be doing in a couple years... busy busy busy.

We look forward to our new arrival. We find out what it is March 3rd! YAY!! Hopefully I can stay on top of this! Any we love you all!

The Month of December

Here it is January and I am just getting to what happened to us in December! We had a great and eventful month. We started off the month by me flying to Florida for a week to do training at our Florida site. I really didn't do much but WORK... I am not to much of an adventure on my own. LOL! We sent Taya up to Heber to spend some time with my mom and dad. She had a blast and we are so glad that Grandma and Grandpa Despain were willing to bring her back for us. Nic picked me up from the airport. I have never been so happy to see him and little Taya. It was a long week with out them!

The next day we went to the Despain Christmas Party! It was alot of fun! It always is Great food, Great Company, and a wonderful white elephant gift exchange! Nic and I walked out with and ASU shirt and a bag of jerky! WHOO HOO!! In the cousin gift exchange Taya got the cutest tutu and crown! Thanks Ayla and Julie!

We also went caroling this year! It was a lot of fun. Great idea Grandpa!

The following week Taya had a procedure done on her Kidney at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Before she was born they discovered in an ultrasound that her left kidney was not draining properly. They told us when she was born that because of how enlarged the kidney was that she would have to have surgery before she was 3 months old. After some testing and many prayers, blessings, and fasting. We went in to get the results. Dr. told us everything looked GREAT and that he wanted her to come back in couple years to get some testing done to make sure things were still functioning right. So In November Kelli and I took Taya to Phoenix Childern's and had a VCUG test, xrays, and and ultrasound. Results weren't as great this time. Taya's Dr. (Dr. Richie) suggested she get a minor procedure done that would block the ureter that was causing the reflux. He said it was 90% effective, only 1 in 10 kids have to have it done again, out patient, she'll be about her normal activities same day. Nic and I discussed it and decided it would be the best thing. I hate the testing!!! Anyhow so we took her to PCH. My mom came with us for moral support! Thanks MAMA!! Taya did great! They let us get her changed into a gown and scrub bottoms (I wanted to take them home they were so cute)and we met with her doctor and the anesthesiologist. Then they took us down a hallway and took Taya one way and me and Nic another. Taya's Dr. met us at the door and said "come on Taya," and she turned and waved by and off they went. I turned to Nic and said, "They just took her, they didn't even ask!" I started to cry! It seemed like not even five min later that Taya's dr came out to talk to us about the results. He said," You knew your daughter was special right? Well she doesn't just have 2 ureters on the left kidney she has 3 and two on the right!" He said it was only the 3rd case he had seen in his 25 years of being a Urologist. The bad news was that he said he doesn't recommend the procedure they did. So we have to go back for more testing in a couple months to see if it worked.

We also celebrated Cortney's, Nic's sister, 19th Birthday!! Happy Birthday CORTNEY (this was the night before Taya's procedure)

My family also got together to do ginger bread houses. Thanks mom for providing EVERYTHING!!! She made the gingerbread molds and everything! She never ceases to amaze me!

And then of course there was Christmas... We had a wonderful Christmas! We did Christmas early with Nic's family since we were going to be at my parents for Christmas. I got a new cartridge for my Cricut and Nic got a new saw and we both got two boxes of food storage items! We were really excited about that! Taya got lots of toys and some really cute clothes from Cort. I also got a cute sign from Randa! We ate some great food and had a really great time. Then we left for Heber Christmas Eve. It was a white Christmas and it was a great one. My parents got us a pressure cooker for canning. My mom got an awesome had painting from my dad. My camera died right as Christmas began! New years was spent at Lori's house. Brian and Ginger were there and we sure did enjoy their company and getting to spend time with Eric. We sure do miss our Azure. Brian complied all the pictures he had of Azure and burnt them on the CD. That was his gift to us and I sure do appreciate the time he spent doing it! Oh and Nic got me a new car!! It a 2003 Volkwagon Passat. It is black with pretty rims and I love it!!

Nic also built a shelf in our garage and a work bench. He never ceases to amaze me!

Nic's birthday was yesterday! Happy Birthday babe! We had his favorite dinner and just hung out and watch movies. He got some jerky, candy, a game called Quelf, and a snowboarding trip from me and Taya. Taya even got him a card. It was Hanna Montana with stickers. It was hillarious. Any way I love you Nic and hope you had a great Birthday!

Last but not least. As some of you know and many of you don't know. We are expecting baby number two! July 20th 2009!! We are so excited! Taya especially she always asks when she can feed her baby a bottle and when she can hold it. She's ready for a brother or a sister. Here's a picture from our first ultrasound it was done the 23rd of December.

As some you may know and a lot of you don't I love shopping the day after Thanksgiving. My father in law thinks I am crazy and so does my husband infact they joke that I get more excited about it then I do Christmas. But I Love shopping knowing I am saving a ton of money for us. I do coupons too and I love walking out of the store spending 8 dollars and bringing home over 100 dollars worth of grocery's! Any way my sister in law's found out that the AZ Mills mall opened at midnight so we all jumped in the car and headed that way!! We were so thankful that Randall drove cause traffic was insane trying to get off the free way to get in the mall. We got to the mall and walked in and decided it was not worth it. IT WAS INSANELY BUSY! So we let Kelsey do some shopping that she wanted to do and headed home. Then we went home. Cort and I took Randa home and then went back to mother-in-laws and woke her up. We went Khols first. We divided into sections and where in and out in 14 min (waited about 20 min for the store to open) with everything we needed. Then we went to Wal Mart. We called Randa on our way there and she met us there. We waited to be able to get our stuff for about 20 min again but where only there 18 min and got everything we needed. I had to do some good manuvering to get Nic's movie but it was well worth it!!! Then we were off to Target... we waited for about 15 min there and then where done in about 20 min. Once again with everything we needed. Then we headed to Old Navy where I go Taya some clothes for super cheap and some stuff for Nic and my brother! After that I was done and pretty much just along for the ride! Randa needed to go to Toys R Us for Teagan and when we pulled up there we decided it wasn't worth the savings the line was completely around the building! So we headed to sears where Randa got a vaccum they were out but they ordered it for her there and she still got the savings! I didn't know you could do that! Then we went to children's place. I needed tights for Taya's Christmas dress. Randa got some really cute clothes for Teagan and we even found a tie for $2.00. Then we headed home. I was so tired!! I hadn't been to sleep all night and I was starving! I ran into a good friend of Azure's, Ashley Dwiggins, who was kind enough to give me a gronala bar at Sears! Ashley it was SOOOO GOOOD!! It was really good to see you too!

This is what we did for Family Home Evening tonight! Pretty cute I think LOL!I am so excited for Halloween! I love Halloween. I can't wait for the 31st!! LOL!! I know I am a kid!! Any way, we've been so busy lately. I was so excited when Friday came! I was able to finish my crafts that I made for my the awesome ladies I visit teach, my visiting teaching partner (I seriously have the best partner just so you know!!), and my amazing in-laws. Taya and I also were able to make some Halloween cookies thanks to my sister, Lori's amazing recipe and adorable cookie cutters. WE didn't make near as many cookies as I thought we would thanks to two tiny hands! Taya ate like 1/3 of the dough!! Any way here are some pictures of the finished product.........

Also, Taya and I went to my sister's ward's TRUNK OR TREAT on Saturday while Nic and some friends went to the ASU Football Game! Taya was Snow White again. She really wanted to be a Froggie this year (random I know) but I couldn't find a frog costume for cheaper than 35.00 and that is before shipping so we decided that there is no point spending money on a costume when she fits perfectly into what she wore last year. Plus I kept asking her what she wanted to be and she said, " A froggie, a ribbet!" Then Lori came to the rescue. She said, "Taya don't you want to be Snow White and get candy?!" Taya's response was, "Sure... Okay I will be Snow White so I can get candy!" LOL if only she would stay this easy!!! Any how, I bought some black hair spray and sprayed her hair black. When I showed her in the mirror she started to cry... LOL! I asked her what was wrong and she said, "I don't want black hair!" After I showed her it washed out she was fine! Poor thing! Here are some pictures from the TRUNK OR TREAT! My nephew Tre' is the whoopee cushion (hilarious he even had a fart machine), Tucker is the scary pirate skeleton, and I didn't get a picture of Tatum. She was Giselle from Enchanted, she looked the part too! LOL!

Also Taya fell asleep at the dinner table Sunday Night! It kinda sad but really cute her are some pictures of how I found her...

And last but not least! I tried to get Nic to take a good picture with me. And after about five I got an okay one, That is okay!!! He kept saying I already took a good one!! Grr if he would just like pictures!!! I will get a good one!! SOMEDAY!!

Nic's Garden

Nic has been working really hard on our garden. In fact, he came in today and said, "you haven't put one picture of our garden on our blog!" LOL So here are some pictures of the garden. It looks awesome. And so far everything is growing great!!

And of course, I just wanted to post a few pictures of Taya. She is growning up so fast and I seriously wonder every day where all the time has gone! We went to the fair with Nic's parents Friday night and we had a blast. Taya got to see all the animals and pet some even. She loved the baby goats and the baby calf! I only had my phone so I have a few pictures of her on that but no pictures to post. Here are a few pictures I took of Tay this morning though!!

As many of you know Monday was one year since my sister, Azure Dea Starkes passed away. It's so crazy it has been a year! It still seems like she is just going to walk in the door! Any how, Kati, Lori and I were able to drive up to Heber together to visit with my mom and dad. Ben joined the reunion on Sunday. All we were missing was Deni, and of course Azure. We really did miss you, Deni. We wish you were able to be there. We had alot of fun enjoying one another. We had a lot of girl time. It was fun to enjoy one another. On Monday, we went out to Azure's grave and laid some brick down and we went out to lunch afterwards. I was really glad that my mom wanted to do that. It was good for all of us I think to be able to spend sometime together and do some service.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has kept our family in their thoughts and prayers. Thank you Lonna for letting Taya come play with Ali so we could work on the block. We miss Azure. I don't think anything will ever change that. Little Eric is getting big and is learning more and more everyday. We sure to love the little bit of Azure we have left here. I am very humbled by everyone's love for my family and for Azure. I am so thankful for the comfort in that I will one day get to see my sister again. Smiling and laughing! I really can't wait to be able to just hug her and talk with her again. There is so many things I miss about her. I just hope.... I really hope that Taya will be able to know what a great person her Aunt Azure is and how much she loves her...

Cousins by chance, Friends by Choice!

As many of you know I have a cousin that I have known since birth. Lonna Porter Connolly and I have been friends/cousins since she entered this crazy world. We've had our differences but when it came down to it if there was every anything I needed I knew she would be there for me, NO MATTER what. I have grown to greatly appreciate the bond we have and even though we don't see eachother often or talk every day... She's still one of my best friends! She's been a great example to me in many ways and I have learned so much from her over the 23 years of our lives. The great thing is Lonna and I both have little ones about two months apart. They really are kindred spirits! They adore one another and play so well together! Lonna and Cam stayed with us the other night and the girls played and laughed for hours. They slept in the same room and they probably would have slept in the same bed but I didn't think they would be that comfortable on Taya's toddler bed. LOL! Taya even went up to Alli's to stay the night. Her first sleep over! Lonna said they slept great and woke up and just played and played! It's funny cause they don't see eachother often but when they do they remember even at the age of two and they just pick up right where they left off. Camping '08 and Babysitting

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a safe labor day weekend. I am thankful that we did and We had a blast. Every year Nic's family goes camping. And I mean Nic's Great Grandma Brewer's siblings decendents. We enjoy going every year and in fact it is something we look forward too! Infact Nic said today that August felt like it was never going to end cause he just could wait to go camping and now here it is September. Any how. We are trully blessed with a wonderful family that we enjoy camping with and in all honesty we eat better camping than we do all year(sad I know). Here are some pictures of our trip!

We even had a surprise visitor, Ms. Alionna Connolly! Brindi went through the temple on Satuday the 30th and Lonna asked if we wanted to watch Ali. We were happy to and since we were camping inbetween Heber and Snowflake it worked out great. Taya and Ali had alot of fun together. They really are kindrid spirits. They don't get to see eachother too often, in fact it as been four months since they had seen eachother, but they just pick up where they left off and are the best of friends. They laughed and played and were inseperable. They had games at the reunion for the little kids so the girls got to go easter egg hunting and they did the three legged race, which they never fell and I am still kicking my self for not having a camera to capture it all! They definately got dirty too! Which what fun is the reunion without a lot of dirt! When I went to take Ali to the road to meet Lonna she asked Taya, "Taya, you come play at my house now?! We have fun!

Taya replied, "Okay, let's go!"

Then Brindi got there and Ali climbed in the car and scooted over, patted the space next to her and said, "Taya come on! Get in Mee Mee's care with me. We go play at my house!" It was so cute and I had to be the mean mom and tell Taya not today. She was pretty broken hearted! Any way here are some of the precious moments I got of the girls!

Lonna thank you for letting Ali come play! They had a blast! I have to say there were several times I could see us in those two little girls!

Teagan's Sucker! He loved it! Infact he ripped it out of my hand and knew exactly what to do with it!

And it wouldn't be camping with out games, family, and marshmallow roasting!

I also want to just say how much I appreciate my husband! He may tease me CONSTANTLY! But he's very helpful and very supportive. I love you NIC!

And last but not least. Taya and I got to watch Teagan on Friday! We had lots of fun. Infact Taya had so much fun she fell asleep sitting up and slept for four hours and woke up GRUMPY!! I think she just wore her self COMPLETELY out. Any here are a few pictures of ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING TEAGAN 101! Thanks Randa and Mike for letting us play with Teagan all day!

Oh... We went to Elli's Birthday Party today and it was alot of fun! Randa thanks for taking all the time to do what you do. The party was awesome. Nicole!! I am so sorry we missed Cory's party! I was hoping to make it but I had to do some hair that morning and I didn't get done till about 12:45pm! We need to get together soon though!

ROCK BAND... and a little surprise....

Last night we went over to our friends, Clint and Jeni's house to hang out and watch a movie. Clint and Jeni have two little girls, Rayli and Lizzy. They are a year and a couple days apart in age. Rayli is about two months older than Taya and they just have a ball together. Lizzy kind of follows them around and teases them. It's funny cause for being the youngest she sure does rule the house! haha!!

Anyway, the movie wasn't too exciting... Griffin and Phoenix.... BORING!! So Nic called Jason and Kristy DeWitt. They brought over rock band and the party began...

The surprise.... I know what you are thinking... no I am not pregnant. haha... So I finally got up the courage to do something I have been really thinking about doing for a really long time....

I cut Taya's hair, about 3 inches off!

It is really cute and I am glad that I did it. I was in a hair cutting mood cause my good friend, Lindsey Wise came over today and we cut and colored her hair and I cut her hair pretty short so.... any how, here it is! Tell me what you think.

Also Taya is totally potty trained. 100 PERCENT! No diapers at night! She has been for about 3 weeks now and we are super excited about it! TILL NEXT TIME TA TA!!

Our Little Miss Taya

THIS IS THE LOOK I GET EVERY MORNING!!

So Taya has had a running nose and fever so we took her to the doctor to discover that she has an ear infection. They also measured her and Nic and I always knew that Taya was small but I didn't think she was that small. She weighed 24.8lbs which puts her in the TEN Percentile for her age!! I am not sure how tall she was (I didn't even think to ask) but she was in the TWENTY Potential for her height. IT was crazy. Nic just said "So, what your saying is we have a really short, scrawny kid?!" It was funny! Anyhow, WE have really enjoyed Taya and the special blessing she is in our lives!! She has such a fun personality and I just crack up at her every day. Her are a few resent pictures of Taya!

A much needed up date...

A lot has happened to our little family. We have been so busy and every time I think I have found time to update on out blog... the Internet isn't working or Nic needs to do homework etc. Any how. Beginning of June kept us all busy. My little sister Kati and Boston Bryce were married on the 14th.

Taya turned two on the 29th. Sorry for all of you out of town family or friends (also those of you I don't see often) I made invitations for everyone and by the time it was said and done it was too late to mail them out and I didn't have time to do it. Any how we had a little pool party and Mike and Randa Canter's (Nic's sister's). It was a lot of fun and thank you to all of you who came and hung out!! Boston and Kati have some video of the party that I will have to post when they email it but for now here are some pictures of Taya's party.

And... Nic bought a motorcycle. I know I think I am crazy.... When he brought it home I wouldn't go see it... I told him , "I am going to wake up and this is all going to be a bad dream!" LOL. But he loves it and with gas prices they way they are... mad since. We haven't been able to sell the truck and it is really expensive for me to drive it into work even if it is just one or two days a week. So pictures of the bike...

Okay, and.... (sorry I am almost done) We went up to Heber for the fourth of July. It was nice to get out of the heat and to spend some time with my family. I didn't take any pictures but I am going to have to steal from Boston and Kati. Any how we had a great time. I got to see a lot of people I haven't seen in a long time. I was said I never got to see alot of people (Tara Lee, Kandra, Brindi, JP, etc.) I hope everyone did have a great fourth of July. We really did. My dad turned 50 on the 5th and we had a little surprise party for him after the fireworks!! He's such an amazing man and I wish we could have done a bit more for him but it was fun to surprise him! Happy Birthday DADDY! We sure do love you!!

Some of you may or may not have known that my older sister passed away in October of 07. It was a big surprise to us; she was in a fatal car accident. Any how today is her birthday. All day long I think I tried to keep my self busy so I wouldn't have to think about it. On my way home from work it started to hit and I just knew I needed to do something today for her to show that I hadn't forgotten her. I'd like to share of few memories or thoughts.

Taya likes to sing a song off of Winnie the Pooh. Azure used to play with her and sing it to her when she was a few months old as she would stand her up and sit her on her bottom, singing "when I up, down, touch the ground, puts me in the mood, up, down, touch the groud, in the mood, *smack* for food. I am stout, round, and I have found, speaking poundage wise, I increase my appetite, when I exercise!" Taya knows most of the words. She still needs promptings her and there but everytime I sing it I can see Azure playing with her again... Azure loved Taya and Taya loved Azure...

I was blessed to have a sister that I got a long with so well. Azure was one of my best friends in high school. We talked about almost everything and I enjoyed playing sports with her. I always seemed to find an encouraging note from her before a big game, test, etc.
Azure was such a beautiful person inside and out. I loved her. I still do very much.

Azure was all about comfort. Things needed to be comfortable in fact, for her wedding her brides maids wore capri's and flip flops, she wore flip flops herself. She didn't see the point in an ugly dress that you would never wear again. When we were taking picture in front of the temple after Azure and Brian where sealed she wanted a picture of us (her bride's maids in the water fountain) and don't think that being in a dress kept her form getting in there with us!! I always loved how spontanious and crazy she was!

Family was very important for Azure. She used to say "you mess with one bean, you mess with the whole burrito!" I know how important family was to Azure. She loved her husband, Brian Starkes very much. She also love her sweet, little baby boy, Eric Andrew very very much. I used to tell her that she spoiled him because she held him all the time and if he whippered she'd pick him. I am glad she did now! She was such an example in so many ways to me. I have always looked up to her. I miss her dearly and I can't say I don't wish her back everyday. There were a lot of things left unsaid... I know that she is in a better place, where she can watch over us all better. I am thankful for that knowledge! I love you Azure! Happy Birthday SIS!

Ok, so I am sorry it has taken me so long to update our blog.... We have been so busy!! When we are not working at work, we are working at home, or playing softball and chasing Taya. Nic has been keeping himself busy landscaping the backyard. I haven't gotten pictures of it yet. It is always too dark by the time I think about it. It is going to look great though. He has been working on it every weekend and I think that we are becoming quite regulars at Home Depot and Lowe's! I have been staying busy painting inside of the house. Here is a before and after of the guest room (the paint was an oops paint for 5 bucks!!)

Also we celebrated my 23rd birthday! (KIM you were right thanks for remembering!!) Nic surprised me with a Cricut Expression which I am SOOOO excited to use!! I have only used it once but I am excited to get to use it for all kinds of fun stuff like the craft Amanda helped me make, We made one for my mom too for mother's day but different colors and stuff...

Nic also invited our family over for cake and ice cream. It was a lot of fun and I am so thankful for all of you who came to hang out with us!! Thanks for all the awesome presents and cards! And thank you for making a trip out to see me on my birthday! I am so thankful for Nic and his thoughtfulness! Thanks Babe, I love you!! any way here are a few pictures of the night! Okay and a quick update on Miss Taya. (sorry this is so long) Taya is growing up so fast. We are almost done potty training and she talks and understands so much. Nic and I just like to listen to her babble while we crack up at her. She has such a funny personality and is so smart. She loves to help me cook, paint, clean, make a mess, etc. She is definitely my little helper aka MESS! haha She also loves to help Nic with anything he is doing whether it is feeding the dog, working on the truck, or working on the back yard! I have learned so much from all of you and I am so thankful for the privlege I have of calling you AMAZING woman : MOM, GRANDMA, FRIEND, COUSIN, and SISTER. Thank you!! Taya's Easter Dress....

Hello, every one and Happy Easter. We went up to Snowflake Friday night to help clean Great Grandma Brewer's house and yard. We had alot of fun pulling weeds and dusting Grandma's million nick nacks! LOL! Then we went to Grandma Holladay's to spend some time with her and have a really good easter lunch! Kelli and Steve and the girls headed home that evening and Nic, Taya, and I went to Show Low to hang out with our friends Jori, Kimberly and girls. It has been almost a year since we had seen them but it was really good to hang out with them and play games. Especially fun to watch Kami and Taya pick up right where they left off. They had so much fun together. We then headed to Heber to spend some time with Mom and Papa Bigler. Today we are just enjoying the Easter Sunday. The Easter bunny found Grandma and Grandpa's house thanks to Grandma Kelli. Taya was so excited about the slippers and candy!! I think her and Nic had way too much fun with bubbles. 1. When I get really tired. I play with my eye lashes. I have since I was a little girl. It is only when I am super tired too.

2. I hate closed toe shoes. If I could wear flip flops all the time I would. My feet get too hot and I really don't like socks!!! I think my feet get claustrophobic! LOL!

3. I have to have MY pillow at night. Since Nic and I were married we always fight over MY pillow. It isn't even super nice or comfortable. He takes it just to see if I will notice he has mine and I have his. I always do and I can't fall asleep till I have MINE!!

4. I always have to have a blanket when I sleep. It can't just be a sheet either. It has to be a blanket and no matter how cold it is I have to have one foot out of the covers. Weird I know!!

5. I never liked the color purple until Taya was born. I love pink but I just was never a fan of purple until we had her. Silly...

6. I can't sleep if Nic isn't in bed with me. I think I can count on one hand the number of times I went to bed without him or before him. I have to be REALLY tired! If not I have the hardest time falling asleep with out him in there with me.

7. I hate to be home alone. I always think some one is watching the house and is going to come in and murder me or something. But I hate to be home ALONE!!

We had a wonderful arrival last night at ABOUT 10:30pm. TEAGAN MICHAEL CANTER made his grand arrival weighing in at 7 lbs. 10 oz. and 21 inches tall!! His mother, Randa is doing great and his father Mike is excited to finally have him here. His grandma Kelli and Aunt's Cortney and Kelsey where also there to greet the little tike! We heard he is so handsome with the Despain dimple and cowlick, and adorable predominant chin! Grandma Kelli told me that he looks a lot like his daddy! Oh and his Big sister, Ellie was also there to greet him. We are so excited for the new addition to the Despain Family. We are very thankful to our Heavenly Father for sending us this beautiful blessing and keeping him and his mother safe! I will post pictures of him as soon as can! Until then tootles!

So things just keep getting busier and busier. Taya is growing so fast. I can barely believe how much she talks! Kelli watched her yesterday and after I got off of work we decided to go over to Burlington and look at their Easter dresses. I got Taya a really cute dress for $14.00! Kelli got her a really cute outfit and she even bought me a new dress. I love my mother-in-law! I really got a good one. We looked at the shoes where Taya had to try on everyone she could get her hands on!! LOL! Any way we got up to check out and Taya had thrown all types of stuff in the cart. It was so funny! Neither me or Kelli had seen her do it! She wasn't very happy that we put her very random selection of toys and clothes back!lol! We then left to go pick Nic up from work... I don't think he was happy that we were about 15 min late... OOPS! I tried to make up a really good excuse of while we where late and he looked over at Taya and said, "Did you have fun shopping all day?" Taya replied, "Yeah, jabber jabber jabber!" Yep I was caught!!

FUN WEEKEND

We had a very eventful weekend. We went up to Snowflake and Heber this weekend cause Nic had some business in Snowflake and we wanted to visit with family. We left after work on Thursday and headed out to got through the canyon. The alternator in the car went out just in time for us to reach the Auto Zone in Globe. WONDERFUL!! I know. It is amazing that I am married to a mechanic though!! We got what we needed and the guy that worked there helped Nic take out the old alternator and put in the new one. It took about a hour and a half to get that done so by the time we left Globe it was 10:30pm. We had to stop a couple times on the way to Snowflake to POWER NAP! We reached Grandma and Grandpa Despain's at about 1:00am!! But we got there safe and that was the important thing. Taya having slept the whole way was up and ready to go at 7:00 am the next morning! Much to our dismay!! lol! But we got to spend the morning with Grandma and Grandpa before they had to go to the temple and Then we spent the rest of the afternoon and evening with Grandma Holladay. Taya helped roll out dough and make Cinnamon rolls! Uncle Brett, Aunt Tobie and the boys came over and hung out and we were surprised by Nic's parents as well. I did some hair for the neighbor next store, it was good visiting with Shar and getting to know Mrs. Hatch better! At about 10:30 we went back the Grandma and Grandpa Despain's and visited with them and Uncle Randy and Randall a bit before getting Taya to sleep and going to bed ourselves! We woke up Saturday and visited a bit with Grandma and Grandpa Despain then headed over to Grandma Holladay's house. Jeni and Rayli came over and I did their hair for Clint's brother's wedding. Rayli and Taya have become quite the friends and it is so much fun to watch them play! And I will admit I have become quite fond of Jeni myself! lol! (Thanks for keeping them busy Grandma Kelli)Then we headed out to Heber where we spent time with my parents. My dad took Taya for a ride with the tube tied to the riding lawn mower! We also took her sledding (pictures to come lost camera!! ah!! I know) Then we went and hung out with my cousin Lonna and her husband Cameron, and their little girl Alli!! Alli and Taya had a blast!! It reminds me of me and Lonna when we were little and they haven't forgotten eachother you can tell!! We had a lot of fun! We sure enjoyed getting to spend time with them. Sunday we went to church and their ward with my parents, and then I chopped off all of Lonna's hair it is so CUTE! but so DIFFERENT!! I also gave my dad a little cut then Nic and I took Taya to Snowflake and stopped by Azure's Grave. IT is beautiful up there if anyone has the time stop by... It is hard seeing the grave but it is so peaceful up there. I know that that is not where she is but she was there that day!! I miss her dearly! I really do!

Anyway, we then stopped by Brian's to see little Eric! WHo is SO FAT! He's so cute and I just loved getting to see him. Also Brian and Ginger are getting married on Thursday at 11 am civil. They got her cancelation of sealing letter and they cannot be sealed for a year so they decided to go ahead and get married! So CONGRATS GUYS and we wish we could be there!!

Taya's First Haircut

OUR 2 Year Anniversary!

Sunday, January 20th was our 2 year anniversary! It was a pretty relaxing day. Since Taya was so sick we decided not to go out of town like we had orginally planned. Instead we went to a movie "27 Dresses" on Saturday night while Lori watched Taya. (The movies was so GOOD, Nic says it was okay) Any how we had a great anniversary. It's amazing how fast two years has flown by. We are so happy to have found one another and we can't wait to see what the rest of our lives TOGETHER will bring. So far.... February 2006- We celebrated our first Valentine's day together. We also attened Nic's great grandpa Brewer's funeral and really began to apprieciat eternal love!
April 2006- We found out we were going to be having a little girl in July
May 2006- I finally quit working at Regis! Oh and I turned 20!!
June 2006- On the 28th things started it happing and we had Miss Mataya Kylee Despain at 2 o'clock on the 29th!
August 2006- Nic got a job offer in Show Low, Nic received the Melchizedek Priesthood
September 2006- Taya was blessed by Nic and we moved to Show Low
October 2006- We took Taya out for her first trick o' treating
November 2006- Celebrated Thanksgiving with the Despain's
December 2006- Celebrated Christmas with the Despain's
January 2007- We were sealed as a family in the Snowflake Temple
May 2007- Nic took a job with Cameron Conolly, and got his real estate licence
June 2007- Taya turned one!
July- Watched the Fireworks in Heber!!
August- Moved back to the valley
October- Learned how important one another is when Azure passed away.
November- Signed on our first house in Queen Creek!

We have had alot of fun the past two years and alot has happened to our little family. We are so Thankful that we know that we can be together forever... even after this life. I learn more about Nic every day and I am so thankful for a wonderful husband and for what a wonderful daddy he is. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!

YUCKY SICKNESS!

Taya has been sick the last couple days. It has been so hard to go to work and leave her, especially when I know she just wants snuggles!! Any way even though she doesn't feel good she is quite the little trooper. She just wants to be held more than normal and just keeps telling me "Mom I yuck!" The first time she said it I asked "Do you feel yucky?" And she said "Yeah!" I thought it was pretty cute. For the most part though she just sleeps more and doesn't want to eat much. I hope this all passes soon!! I miss her happy smiles!!

On a happier note... she is talking so much! She hands you stuff and says "Er you go!" or if her sippy cup leaks she'll say "I Spill!" She discovered her pocket and everything has to go "in me pocket." She likes to talk on the phone, "Hewow, mi baby...lu you bye bye" is the usual conversation! Oh she is growning and I can say there is no greater joy than having her in our lives! We have been so blessed to have such and amazing little girl!

THE BIG 23!!!

Yesterday was Nic's 23rd Birthday! That morning Taya told nic "HAPPYY BIRDAY DADDY!!" Pretty cute I have to say. We had a BUNCH of family and friends over for hamburgers and games. It was a lot of fun and we appreciate all who came and also everyone who brought food too! It was WONDERFUL to see everyone. There was people there that we haven't see in a long time and it ment alot that you took time to join us for Nic's Birthday Bash!! He said he had a wonderful birthday and I am glad!! He deserved it! Nic is such a hardworker and is an amazing father and husband! We just love him! So here are some fun pictures of the night!! Also some of the pictures are from Sunday Night. Nic's parents came to celebrate his birthday a little early. We had some home made ice cream **YUM YUM** and we played a really fun game!! It was really good to have them come over and hang out for a while!! Any how the pictures!!

Merry Christmas everyone!! I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. I know we did. Nic loved his XBOX 360 and played his new game guitar hero all day pretty much. We barely got him to stop to eat!! lol! I got a gorgeous coach purse (thanks Kristy). Taya got all kids of fun things. She got a kitchen and a baby care center. Loves them both!! Noah's ark little people.... and so so much more. We had a wonderful Christmas. Thank you all for everything!! I will post pictures when I get them... I forgot my camera at home!! I know sad day!! But Cort took lots so they will be up soon!!

We did not forget the true meaning of Christmas. We are so thankful for our Savior and His church. We are thankful for His birth and His perfect example. We love him very much and are trying very hard to live in a way so that we can be with him again, Azure too. I missed my Azure this year. Christmas just wasn't the same. I am so thankful for the many found memories I have of her. Taya loves to look at pictures of Azure and if you ask her to say Azure she says, "Azzzzeee" It is so cute and I know Azure loves hearing it. Brian and Ginger are engaged. Ginger is the girl Brian has been dating. We are happy he found some one and truly wish them all the happiness in the world. Congrats guys!!

Ok before Azure passed away she was at my parents house watching conference. After the first session was over she told my Grandma Bowers that the only Christmas present she wanted was to see my Grandma on the four wheeler. Any how after Grandma got on it Azure decided it would be funny to have her run over my dad wearing Santa's coat. You can see Azure in the background with the video camera. HA! HA! Man I miss her and her crazy sense of humor!

FIRST TIME IN THE SNOW!!

So Taya went up north with my brother, Ben, last weekend. Nic was going up to go snowboarding and I had to work so I decided to send her to see Grandma and Grandpa Bigler! It snowed up north and so Taya got to go out and play in the snow. I made sure that they knew I had to have pictures, especially since I wasn't going to be there to see it myself. Anyway, she had a lot of fun and looked pretty darn cute!! Kati and her played in the snow and she brushed the snow off of Kati when she got thrown in it by the boys. I am sad I missed it but I am very glad they got pictures! Anyway, here they are!!

Hello Everyone!! I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving. I know we did. It was a hard one without Azure but it still was wonderful to be around the family. It was the first time that Deni and Brett's family has come to Arizona for Thanksgiving! So we laughed and cried and had a wonderful time. We had family pictures taken. Mom wanted Azure in them and so she was photo shopped in a few of them. We dearly miss Azure and it still very hard to believe she is gone. We all felt her near us Thanksgiving day. I think she knew how much we needed her there.

Nic and I moved into our new house in Queen Creek. We love it. We are all unpacked just have a few projects that need to get done plus painting the house. We love it! We are close to Lori and Jared and very close to Amanda and David Hall!! We also got a dog!! His name is Hammie. Taya and Nic love him! I probably would like him alot more if he didn't pee on my new carpet!! AARG!! But he's getting better!! We are excited for Christmas!! It is such a special time of the year. In Memory of Azure Dea Bigler Starkes

Azure Dea Starkes was born June 9, 1983. She was greeted by her mother, Donna Lannette Bigler, father, Keith Earl Bigler, sister's Lori Michelle Bigler (Baker), and Deni Lynn Bigler (Berger), and brother, Benjamin Keith Bigler. By 1986 there were two new additions to the Bigler Family. Jessica Lane Bigler (Despain) in 1985 and Kati Elizabeth Bigler in 1986. Azure greated both new sisters will great love and excitement. Azure grew up in Heber, Az. She touched the lives of many people as she smiled, sang, and danced into everyone's heart's. She was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint's at the age of 8 years of old. She attended Capps Elementary, Mogollon Junior High, and Mogollon High School. She loved being goofy while hanging out with family and friends. She also played basketball, softball, and volleyball all four years of high school for Mogollon High. She loved sports and after graduation she enjoyed coaching the Junior High School Girls. She also played softball for her church and on a city league team. On June 26th of 2004, Azure was sealed in the Snowflake Arizona Temple to the love of her life Brian Keith Starkes. Azure and Brian loved each other very much. They enjoyed playing games together and just being around one another. On April 26th, 2007 Azure and Brian welcomed into the world a son, Eric Andrew Starkes. Azure's excitement for being a mother was contagious. She loved every moment she spent with Eric and their wasn't a movement or cooh that went unnoticed. She thought every thing he did was amazing and would never let you forget how happy she was that she was a mother! On October 13, 2007 Azure died due to injuries sustained in a car accident, her son was in the car, but was unharmed. Azure passed away at 24 years old. She was an amazing friend, daughter, wife, sister, and mother. She is and will be dearly missed! We wanted to thank everyone that has been there for our family in this time of need. We love our Azure and we love everyone who has been there and supported us. We do know that Azure is in a better place. Some day we will be with our Azure again and we will laugh and cry together. We are so thankful for the knowlege we have and for the atonement of Christ that will allow us to repent for our sins. We are so thankful for eternal families and the knowledge that we will all be together again. Again thank you all for your love, support, and prayers.

It has been a long time since I have posted anything and so much has happened. I will catch everyone up on everything but it will have to be another time. I want to talk about something else today. Nic went in for heart surgery today. It was a minor surgery and he had an ablation done on his heart. Everything went GREAT!! He is already home and doing okay. It wasn't open heart but they did go up through a main artery from his groin... so needless to say he is a bit uncomfortable. We were at the hospital for a total of 12 hours. Me being the worrier I am.... stressed and stressed. But I just wanted to shout out a thank you for all your support and prayers. Thank you all!!

New HOME!!

Exciting news!! We bought a house!! Best part is that our good friends Amanda and David (Madden too) and Mike and Cara all bought houses in the same community!! We are all super excited and can't wait for them to be done. Our's and the Hall's (David and Amanda's) house should be done in December. As for Mike and Cara... not sure there!! It will be fun to have friends so close!! It will also great for Taya to have little Madden a few houses away!! Oh and I bet you want to hear about the house... well... It is a 3bedroom +den and two bathrooms. It is single level with two living and dining areas!! HUGE Pantry and Laundry!! It is just under 1800 sq ft. Oh and has a covered back patio and two car garage!! We are so excited and I have been waiting to post this till we met with our lender!! Which we did today and she says that everything looks great!! Oh and it is in Queen Creek... which I hope doesn't discourage anyone from visiting!!

Despain Reunion!

This past week end we had a lot of fun. We went to the Despain Reunion out at the Despain Ranch. We ate some really good food and got to visit with all the cousins. We then headed over to Uncle Ralph's house to have some fun. Taya got to see his horse and ride it a tiny bit. She was too sure about her at first but soon enough she couldn't get enough of her!! Aunt Cort took her over to see the her to see the dog. Taya loves DOGS!! We then walked over to see the goats, where Taya found a donkey just her size that she could ride! After seeing all the animals, we went inside for a bit to get out of the sun. Uncle Ralph adores Taya and she loves him. She loves going to his house and seeing all the animals and there is nothing in Unlce Ralph's eyes that she can do wrong!! haha!! After Taya took a short nap inside, we went outside and played in the sand box for a while. There is all kinds of fun at Uncle Ralph's house!! We then drove out to Taylor to visit Grandma Holladay. Taya helped Grandma water her plants, although I think she watered herself a lot more! She loved holding the hose and trying to drink out of it!! We had so much fun spending time with the family. Taya loves her grandparents and loves going to visit them!!

So Taya and Nic sure do have a special bond. Yesterday, I got Nic to let me take some pictures of them as he took Taya for a ride on the quad. She sure is growing fast!! She's becoming more and more independent every day and she is not scared of much. Anyhow, Taya loves to ride the quad, especially with Daddy. Infact, Nic has taught her how to put the key, what button starts it, and what lever makes it go!! I took her for a ride earlier that day and she kept rocking back and for like... GO FASTER MOM!! Haha... so when we got to the house she took the key out and I got her down and she walked over to Nic and handed them to him!! HA HA!! It's was hillarious and she sure did tell me who was boss!! She loves her daddy and he definetly loves her too!! I can't believe all she has learned the past month! It's amazing to watch her learn and grow. I am so glad that she is part of our lives and that Heavenly Father knew how much our family needed her little sweet spirit!! I thank him every day for blessing our home with our little girl!!

Bitter Sweet News!!

Well Nic and I made a little trip to the valley Wednesday night. Thursday, Nic went over to Chandler-Gilbert first thing and met with a counselor. He came home and registered for school. At 1:00 he drove over to Scottsdale for his interview. He got the JOB!! Yay! He gets paid well, with benifits, company car, and company phone!! We couldn't have asked for more. At 5:00 we headed over to lifetime fitness for my second interview. I aslo got the job. I will be working in the daycare, part-time. I get to take Taya with me!! It is very exciting!! So we move down before the 18th of this month. Thank you everyone for your prayers on our behalf. So back to the valley we go!!

What a weekend!!

We got back from Gilbert last night at 11:00 pm! And boy where we all tired. We left for Gilbert on Friday about 4 o'clock. We got there and spent some time with Nic's parents and sisters. Nic and I then left to go see some of his friends from Highschool. We saw Mike and Cara Hill there and they came back to Steve and Kelli's with us to play some games. We had a lot of fun with them and Cortney (Nic's sister) too!! The next day we got up bright and early for a fun filled day planned by Nic's mom. We drove out past Tortilla Flats and hiked down into this canyon to get an area Kelli had planned to play in the water. It turned out that is was the back of Canyon Lake. The hike was only suppose to be a mile. Turned out to be about three miles in and three miles out. Mike and Randa (Nic's sister and brother-in-law) had their three year old daughter, Ellie, with them. They went about 3/4 of the way and decided to turn around because Mike was suppose to meet our cousin Jason at 12:00. It was already 11:15 am. The rest of us went on. We went and played in the water for a bit and then dried off and began our trek home. The hike out was a lot worse then the hike in. We were all very tired, but we all made it. It was a lot of fun we tested our limits and it was a lot of fun. We went home and ordered some pizza and wings. The next day was Sunday. We ended up leaving church early cause Taya wasn't feeling well. So we just relaxed and hung out with the family when they got home. Uncle Jeff and Aunt Amy came over and visited. Also my brother, Ben, my sister, Kati, and my friend Andalynn came over and visited too. It was good to hang out and visit with everyone. On Monday, Nic and I left Taya with Grandma and Grandpa while we ran some errands. I had a job interview at the Gilbert Lifetime Fitness gym. It went well. I have to go back for a second interview soon. We met up with Ben at the house and went to lunch. Then we (Taya, Nic, Ben, Kelsey, Nicole, and Me) all climbed in the truck and went to the mall. We got Taya some shoes, Nic some new hats, and me a cool cover for my phone. We went back to Grandma's and Grandpa's and had dinner and left about 9:00 o'clock. We had a ton of fun!! We were glad to get home though!!

Playing in the Mud!

Yesterday it rained hard in Heber. Nic and I decided it was time to go have some fun. We took the quad and road around for about an hour!! It was so much fun. We found some huge mud puddles and road right through them, over and over again!! We came home really muddy!! We played with Taya for a while in the front puddles! We had a blast!!!

Date Night

Tonight Nic and I decided it was time for a little alone time!! Since my mom and dad were going to Mesa, we decided to send Taya with them. We went to eat at Chuck Wagon Grill out by Bison Ranch... haha and we don't recommend it!!! The food was pretty bad. We then decided to rent a movie!! Disaster again. The good ol' Rent a Flick didn't have anything!! We forget what it is like to live in a small town I guess!! So we decided to go home and order Pay Per View... Obviously there really isn't anything good out as of lately haha!! So our date night didn't quite turn out as planned. But it still turned out good. Some good one on one time and cuddling on the couch really can beat anything!!!
